Who are DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors?

‘DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors’ are a family owned business located in Sydney, NSW that manufacture sliding wardrobe doors. We specialise in the construction of high quality wardrobe doors that are made to measure and delivered across Sydney, The Central Coast, Newcastle, The Blue Mountains & Wollongong. All of our products are manufactured using the best quality materials and we take pride in offering a large selection of sliding wardrobe doors delivered direct to your door!

Why are your doors so much more affordable?

Our DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors are manufactured on-site in our Sydney factory. We don’t offer a showroom since our products can be viewed online. We also provide over the phone advice hence the lower running costs. All of our sliding wardrobe doors come with a 10 year guarantee which covers the wheels and head guides. If you ever have an issue with any of these items, we will deliver or post replacements for you free of charge!

What is included when I order DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors?

Our DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors come with a matching aluminium track kit. The track kit consists of 2x wall jambs, 1x top track and 1x bottom track (for wall to wall openings) or additional aluminium products are provided if your wardrobe finishes against one wall only. You also receive all of the required fittings to install your new doors including screws, screw caps, green plugs along with an installation guide.

Do the doors come in standard sizes?

Our DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors are custom made to suit your exact opening. We therefore don’t stock standard sizes. The maximum width for all of our sliding wardrobe doors is 1200mm and the maximum standard height is 2400mm. These measurements are for the doors however, once the top and bottom track is calculated into the height, the total maximum standard height of your opening can be up to 2530mm high!

Do the doors come any higher than 2400mm?

We do stock oversize panels that can be up to a maximum height of 2700mm (door size). Once the top and bottom track is calculated into the height, the total maximum height of your opening can be up to 2760mm high! Should your ceiling height be higher than this, we can accommodate by offering a white melamine bulkhead panel that will make up the rest of the space up to your ceiling.

What if my floor, ceiling or walls are uneven?

It’s important to ensure your floors are level. Check using a spirit level. If they are uneven, please send the smallest number to us in your order. Our wardrobes are built with some tolerance which will allow for some minor adjustments. It is more important that the width and height measurements are accurate and you are encouraged to measure this at least twice.

What is the lead time from when my order is placed?

Our standard sliding wardrobe doors have a lead time of 1 week from when your order is placed. We pride ourselves in having once of the fastest turn around times in the industry. Depending on stock levels, the wait time can sometimes be a little longer (This was more common during the peak of COVID however we are now generally able to deliver within the 1 week time frame). Our Polyurethane Doors generally take 2-3 weeks from when your order is placed. This is mainly due to the wait time involved in spraying the doors and ordering the colour etc. We offer our services & FREE delivery to Sydney, The Central Coast, Newcastle, The Blue mountains & Wollongong!

Would I be able to collect my doors if I am located outside of your service area?

If you don’t wish to have your doors delivered, you can collect them from our factory.

What if I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for?

If you have a particular design in mind or have seen something you like elsewhere we may be able to give you a quote.

Are the doors easy to install?

Fitting should give a good DIYer no problems at all. Some tools are needed and we are always on the end of the phone if you need help. Fitting instructions can be found on our website and are also provided with your screws and fittings.

What should I do if I have carpet?

If you are installing the wardrobe doors onto carpet, ensure that when you measure, push down hard into the carpet with the tape measure for a true reading.
